The American entrepreneur Rules Out Spurs Takeover Bid Post-Initial Contact
The former chairman directed Spurs' relocation to the state-of-the-art venue in recent years.
US technology mogul the entrepreneur has dismissed submitting an official acquisition offer for the North London club.
The club had before “unequivocally rejected” an informal expression of interest from a syndicate spearheaded by Brooklyn Earick last period and stated the club was not for sale.
But UK takeover and merger rules stipulated that, after an expression of interest rejected, the group had to submit a bid by 24 October or state they would not do so.
Verification of the determination was provided in a statement made by the club to the stock exchange, confirming the team is “not in an offer period.”
Earick posted an picture of the announcement on social media, stating: “It's been a pleasure discussing with Spurs and the Lewis family's agents over the past few weeks.
“I have high regard for the club, its executives, and its fans, and wish them nothing but success.”
Tottenham's directors acknowledged the syndicate for its “constructive approach” in discussions and for “respecting the definitive view” of the proprietors that the organization is off the market.
Earick is a one-time music presenter who also served in aerospace studies for Nasa before founding his technology firm, which focuses on innovation, media, sports and entertainment.
The informal offer was the latest inquiry rejected by the team's directors since the unexpected exit of executive chairman Daniel Levy in last month.
Earlier in September, the team rejected offers from previous club stakeholder Amanda Staveley's PCP International and a consortium spearheaded by Kennedy and Ng through the holding company.
Daniel Levy and his relatives control about a significant stake of Enic Sports & Developments Holdings Ltd – which has an almost 87% stake in Spurs.
He was the the league's longest-serving chairman and is estimated to have made in excess of fifty million pounds during his long tenure in the position.
However he was also the subject of frequent demonstrations by Tottenham supporters, particularly last term as domestic league results were below expectations.
The north London club won their major honor in 17 years when they overcame United in May's continental decider.
